Lisa Harmon had always dreamed of owning her own business but thought that would happen a little later in life. After 20 years of service with a major St. Paul based multinational company, Lisa was laid off in January 2009. Upon getting over the shock of it all, Lisa realized she was now ahead of schedule. There is no time like the present to turn dreams into reality. Lisa considered several different businesses but found a heart connection with Right at Home. Too many people question what they’ve accomplished at the end of a work day. Not the case for Lisa. She finds her work to be compelling and satisfying knowing her agency is helping seniors maintain their independence, providing family members with peace of mind and creating jobs for caregivers. Lisa volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels for the period 2000-2008 to seniors and disabled adults in the community. She got a glimpse into the lives of this vulnerable population. A seemingly little thing as delivering lunch can make a big impact in the life of someone seeking to maintain their independence. Lisa welcomes and embraces the opportunity of making an even bigger difference serving seniors. What a wonderful life purpose!
Vanessa has worked serving people all her life including children, families, seniors and persons with disabilities. She has a passion for caring for others and was happy to find Right at Home where she could do what she loves and make the world a better place.
